NC Project part 1

Here is part of something that I am doing for school. The project is a North Carolina Project.

Interview of a North Carolina Citizen

I interviewed my Grandma. My grandma’s name is Mildred. She lives in Davie County. She was born in Iredell County. She lived here 65 years, her whole life.
The things that are different are that there were no cars and all the roads were dirt. There was no electricity wood stoves were used to warm the home and cook with. Most of the food was grown in the garden. The extra food was caned and saved. Sometimes they hunted meat like squirrels and rabbits. And there were outside toilets.
She went to Harmony Elementary till 6th grade. She walked one mile to school. Then they moved to Farmington in Davie County. She went to Farmington elementary for 7th and 8th grade. She went to Davie high for high school and road the bus. The difference in school was that there were 20 kids and 1 teacher. There were no computers. Also no foreign language was offered.
She says she probably would not want to live anywhere but where she is now, because she has lived there so long. She is happy.
She has visited, Cape Hatteras, Grandfather Mountain, Pilot Mountain, the USS North Carolina, the Biltmore house and old Salem.
My Grandmother remembers when she was in elementary school that the government of North Carolina asked all the school kids to bring one nickel to school. This money was going to be used to bring the USS North Carolina home and refurbish it.
She has traveled to Atlanta, GA, Virginia, Myrtle Beach and Charleston SC, Washington D.C. and Knoxville TN. Her favorite place is the Outerbanks.
There are more cars and planes, more people. The area has changed from a rural area to cities and suburbs. There are also not as many farms.
She likes the weather in North Carolina. Because you can have a variety of different weather conditions: cold in the winter or hot in the summer.

ben at camp

Ben is gone to band camp. Graham, Mom and I are at home. I am painting George and Margie a picture of a sailboat. I have the trees the sky and the water painted. I think they will like it. I am painting them a picture because they gave a painting kit for Christmas.

My First Post for Summer!

My first post of the summer is going to be about riding my bike this summer. We have been rideing our bikes. We have timed the other person. I am the second fastest of us. I have been swimming this summer. We have been to resadents camp. I had to do world conservation class. We dug out a ditch on the side of the road. We went to the climbing wall. I did all of the walls except for one. Have a fun summer.

went camping

We went camping this week end. We went to banjo creek in our camper. It was fun!It is really close to the zoo. We went to the zoo 2 times because the polar bears were there. The campsite where we were at there was a blob. A blob is like an inflatable tramp-o-lene. We went to a motorcycle and plane museum.

I was on the Internet. And i was saving pichures of snakes. Here is a picture of one of the snake. It is a two head snake. Do think this photo is real? I do.
